Obituary for Trorie Christine Atkinson Olszewski

Trorie Christine Atkinson Olszewski took her first breath in heaven on January 7, 2019. Trorie was a vibrant young woman with a passion for life and deep love of family and community. She was born on August 17, 1991 in Ansbach, Germany. Trorie’s family relocated to her mother’s hometown of Ripley, WV in her childhood, and she continued her family tradition of graduating from Ripley High School in 2009. While attending Ripley High, Trorie was a cheerleader, ran track, and was a member of the RHS Marching Band, in which she played the flute. Trorie had a passion to foster kindness in the community and she founded the L.I.K.E. organization in 2007. L.I.K.E. is an acronym for Living In Kind Environments, and the organization focused on teaching kindness, acceptance, and tolerance throughout the community. She was able to begin a scholarship with her organization in 2008, which helped local high school students who showed exceptional character to continue their education. Trorie was also active in various other programs and community projects, with an emphasis on the WV Fairs & Festivals Association, where she was awarded several pageant titles and scholarships and made lifelong friends. Trorie is a 2013
graduate of Fairmont State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in fashion merchandising. Trorie enjoyed travelling and experiencing as much that life had to offer in her short time here on Earth. She had an infectious smile and will be missed by all that had the
blessing of knowing her. As a final act of love and kindness, Trorie has been able to help others live better lives through the gift of organ donation.
Trorie is survived by her husband Maciej Olszewski; parents Stacia and Brett Allman, and Darel and Debbie Atkinson; grandparents Karen and Troy King, Ronald and Becky Allman, and the late Shelby Barnes and Carl Atkinson ; sisters Kari Atkinson Winter (John), Maggie Long (Adam Bailey), brothers Matthew Atkinson and D.J. Atkinson, and by the tiniest loves of her life- her niece Madelyn Winter and her nephew Troy Winter. Trorie is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends that she loved with all of her heart.
Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Sunday, January 13th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Dee Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 12-2pm and 4-6 p.m at the funeral home.
The family welcomes flowers (which Trorie loved)
and all acts of kindness by all that knew Trorie, however if you would like to donate in her honor in lieu of flowers you may donate to: The Trorie Atkinson Olszewski Memorial Scholarship, 1104 Henry Street, Ravenswood, WV 26164.
