Alice E. Raines

Alice E. (Parsons) Raines, 93, of Ripley went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.

Alice was born September 10, 1930 at Charleston, WV a daughter of the late Carl E. and Eva (Merical) Parsons. Alice enjoyed spending time outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, spending time in her garden and mowing, which she continued to do into her 90s. Most of she loved spending time with her family and being in church worshiping her Lord.

Alice is survived by her children Steven D. Raines (Velieca) of Ripley and Diane Lynn Holbert (Allen) of Morgantown; sister Betty L. Wilson of Teays Valley. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Raines.

Funeral service to celebrate Alice’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 18th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with her son, Pastor Steve Raines officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.
