Arley Edward Proctor, 89, of Kenna, WV completed his journey on earth and entered his forever home on Saturday, August 22, 2026. During his peaceful departure he was under the compassionate care of Hubbard Hospice House.
Born December 27, 1936, in Charleston, WV. He was the son of the late Arley and Lucille Shaffer. In addition to his parents, Arley was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosetta (Weikle) Proctor and siblings, Norma, Alice, Ray, Gene, Kenneth and Garland.
He is survived by and his memory will be carried in their hearts of his beloved family includes his three sons, David Proctor (Louise), Timmy Proctor (Laura) and Gary Proctor (Bonnie); four grandchildren David Paul Proctor Jr., Brandi Proctor, Leslie Proctor and step-grandson Tim Johnson; Arlie Procter (brother) and many extended family members and friends.
Arley retired from the Kanawha Distribution Company after 20 plus years of dedicated service and then worked for United Bank in Ripley. He attended the Pleasant View United Methodist Church on Fisher Ridge Rd. in Kenna. He enjoyed riding his Polaris ATV and bike while spending time with family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 28th at Christian Fellowship Church, 1076 Kentuck Rd., Kenna, WV 25248 with Pastor David Spencer officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place Thursday, August 27th from 6-8 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, 511 S. Church St., Ripley, WV 25271. Entombment will be in the Floral Hills Garden of Memories Mausoleum following the funeral service. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Cedar Ridge Nursing Home of Sissonville and the Kanawha Hospice Care staff for their kind hearted and boundless care for Arley during his time of necessity. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in honor of Arley to the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
