Barbara Ann Monroe

Barbara Ann Monroe, 86, of Ripley went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2025.

Barbara was born on October 21, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Laoma Jones.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Freddie Monroe; Daughters Debbie(Denvil) Cook, Terri(Tony) Cooley, Sonya(Jerry) Kincaid, and Angie Barickman; Step-daughters Sandie(Steve) Kennedy and Kathy Monroe; brother Vernon(Mary) Jones; 13 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was proceeded in death by her first husband Ivan(Bill) Painter; sister Anna Loftin; brothers J.B. Jones, Donald Jones, Roy Jones, Jim Jones, and Lonnie Jones.

Barbara will be remembered for her love of remodeling old homes and interior design; specifically hanging wallpaper, which she did for many commercial and residential areas of Jackson County. She was also a member of the Ripley Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening and spending time with those she loved.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 4th at Waybright Funeral Home with visitation from1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Fairplain Cemetery. Online memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.waybrightfuneralhome.com.
