Barbara Jean Staats Barbara Jean Staats, 77, of Sandyville, passed away Tuesday morning, December 18, 2012 at the Ravenswood Care Center following an extended illness. She was born April 15, 1935 in Ripley, daughter of the late Freeman and Ada Anderson Easter. She was a licensed practical nurse as well as a lifelong homemaker. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William D. Staats, brothers Frank Easter of Ripley and Joe Easter of Millwood and sister Shirley Barnette of Ripley. Surviving: Son, Steve Staats (Sandra) of Ripley; Granddaughter, Leah Staats of Sandyville; Grandson, Joseph Staats of Knoxville, TN; Brother, Frederick Easter of Fairplain; Sister, Christine Pickens of Evans. Funeral services will be Friday, December 21 at 1 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor David Fields officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at the Ravenswood Cemetery.
