Basil Fields

Basil C. Fields, 85 of Gay passed away November 6, 2015 at his home surrounded by family following a long illness. He was born May 28, 1930 in Jackson County, a son of the late Virgil and Jannetta Price Fields. He worked as a mechanic for the state of West Virginia and attended the Aplin United Methodist Church and the Plainview Church. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Julie Kyer Fields; son Randall Fields and his wife Debbie of; daughter Angie Anderson and her husband Kevin; step children Steve Anderson and his wife Diane, Lisa Cook and her husband Greg, Kevin Anderson and Debbie Deem and her husband Paul; grandchildren Josh (Casey)Fields, Kaitlyn (Gary) Williams and Caleb Anderson; great grandchild Garrison Williams; brothers Gay Fields and Charles Fields; also survived by 14 step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Janet Casto Fields, brothers Ray Fields, Roy Fields and Sherman Fields; sisters Dorothy Canter, Louisa Price and Monnie Mahood. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Aplin United Methodist Church, Gay with Pastor Danny Cummings officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service (11 am to 1pm) at the Church.
