Benjamin Michael Hudson

Benjamin Michael Hudson, 33, gained his angel wings on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from his home in Sandyville, WV. He was a humorous, loving son. He is survived by Michael and Robin Hudson (parents), Kayla Sue (Fiancé), Kieran and Kazden (sons), Brandy Caltrider (sister), Christian Caltrider (nephew), and Jonathan Caltrider (brother for life).

He had many passions and a few included hunting, fishing, 4-wheeler riding and simply being outdoors. He had talent when it came to cooking and made the best ribs and anything smoked around. With such a creative mind he enjoyed walking through the woods or by the water’s edge to hunt for driftwood, logs, or stumps to make beautiful works of art.

He did not leave this world without putting his own mark. Benjamin was the type of person that we all truly need in our lives. It did not matter to him what type of person others might see in you; he didn’t judge based on such. While most saw him on the outside as rough and tough, he had the biggest heart on the inside. Especially to those he loved and who loved him but didn’t matter if he knew you at all. If he saw you in need, he was going to lend a hand. That’s who he was.

He loved his family fiercely and would move mountains for them at the drop of a hat. If you needed him, he was there. No questions asked.

He was a graduate of Ripley High School, class of 2008. He worked various jobs from river barges, building bridges around WV to starting his own home repair business.

Welcoming him into Heaven are Floyd and Virgie Hudson (grandparents), Jack and Alice Bonar (grandparents), Lydia and Boot Bowers (great grandparents), Archie and Mary Morgan (great grandparents), Morgan Easley (uncle), Rock Hudson (uncle), and Aria Grace Caltrider (niece).

He was battling addiction off and on and fought as long and hard as he could, all while trying to help others beat the same demons. He didn’t want to leave this world. Unfortunately, God had other plans and Heaven gained a very beautiful angel.

Services will be held at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, WV on August 27, 2023 from 2pm-4pm followed by the service at 4pm. In his memory, the family has set up a college fund for Benjamin’s two boys. In lieu of flowers, should you desire, the family has asked that you make a donation to this fund.
