Bernard Parsons

Bernard Parsons, 85, of Given, WV passed away on October 24, 2026.

Born to parents Mildred and Charles “Web” Parsons, he spent all of his life in Given choosing home even when he married and raised a family of his own. He was a gentle soul, the kind of man that animals gravitated to and brought joy and laughter to his family. Working as a diesel mechanic for Cecil I. Walker Inc. for 39 years he knew the value of hard work and being hands on, values he carried on in retirement running his own farm. He enjoyed hunting and riding four-wheelers, often out enjoying nature when he wasn’t tending to the farm and it’s many animals or spending quality time with his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Charles “Web” Parsons.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of over 50 years, Karen June Parsons; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Tiffany Parsons; and the grandchildren he cherished, Gunnar Parsons, Abbey Parsons, and Andy Southall.

A funeral service for Bernard will be held at Waybright Funeral Home of Ripley, WV on Wednesday October 28th, 2026 at 12pm. Friends are invited to gather with the family to share memories, stories, and offer their condolences for an hour prior to the services. After the services he will be laid to rest in the Given Cemetery he spent so many years helping care for.
