Betty Ann Davis, 73, of Ripley passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Eldercare Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. She was born November 17, 1942 in Ripley a daughter of the late Gilbert W. and Naomi Ruth Pickens Flesher. Betty was a homemaker who had a love for children. She was known by many as the community babysitter for all the children she babysat through the years. She also enjoyed quilting and attended Mercy Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter Myhaulina Workman (Tommy) of Sandyville; Sisters Lucille Carney (Jim) of Ripley, Brenda Cox of Ripley, and Carlotta Shamblin (Cecil) of St. Albans; grandchildren Benjamin and Erin Barber. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Homer Davis. She was also preceded in death by special companion Virgil Morton. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Bradley Goodwin and Kevin McClung officiating. Friends may call on the family Saturday evening from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
