Betty L. Kerns, 85, of Sandyville, WV went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2023.
Betty was born April 24, 1938 in Jackson County. She was a pastor’s wife for 55 years. During this time, she took her life as a Pastor’s wife very faithfully. Betty’s smile brought joy and love to everyone that she came in contact with. She loved visits from her grandkids and watching them play and hear their laughter. Her enjoyment was quilting and reading her Bible.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Pastor Creel E. Kerns of Sandyville; sister Sue (Leon) Amburgey of Michigan; children Pamela Stepp of Charleston, Karen Pitts of Sandyville, Steve (Teresa) Kerns of Sandyville and Sharon (David) Stepp of Sandyville, Polly (Richard) Parsons of Ripley; grandchildren Carrie Jo (Dave) Burger of Virginia, Brian Ramsey of Virginia, Jason (Leighann) Kerns of Ravenwood, Veronica Lewis of Evans, Brandon (Amber) Stepp of Charleston, Nathan (Rachel) Stepp of Spencer, Jacob (Kaitlyn) Stepp of Sissonville and MacKynzie Fields of Ripley. She is also survived by the loves of her life her 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Wanda Ramsey and son-in-laws Richard Ramsey and Jonathan Pitts.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 28th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Dr. S.R. Parsons Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Sandyville.
