Betty always put her family first, loved hosting family dinners and was able to attend major events for her three granddaughters Betty Moles, Ronda Studivan, Misty Hamon and one grandson Dewaine “Bub” Parsons Jr. She will also be remembered by her great grandchildren Kayla Moles, Keree Beller, Mandee Adaira Studivan, Brianna Hamon, Dakota Parsons, Connor Hamon, and Danae Parsons as well as great great grandchildren Tucker & Oakley Beller. Betty Mae Skeens Webb was born on August 1st, 1932. Like most people during those days, she was born in a farmhouse in Given, WV. She lived life to the fullest and passed away at the age of 90 while in the loving care of Patricia, her daughter and Allen, her son-in-law on the morning of December 6, 2022. In her prime Betty enjoyed taking trips to different parts of the United States with her family and by going on several bus tours. She remained close to her family roots and was a resident of Jackson County all her life. Betty is known for loving the color red and always having her long fingernails painted red and wearing red outfits. Her immediate family may have known her as being a little stubborn, stern, or guarded. Whereas, if you worked with Betty, you saw a hardworking, dedicated person who always showed up early when called upon. She worked at Cedar Lakes in housekeeping for over 18 years. But for her the biggest accomplishment in life was the 22 years of service at Jackson General Hospital where she worked in the dietician department starting in 1972 and retiring in 1994. If anyone was at the hospital during those 22 years, you may have heard her rolling the food cart down the hallways. She had a very boisterous voice and temperament. Another triumph was battling cancer and winning. Her family will always remember and be grateful for their Granny’s strength. She lived independently and on her own until February of this year. She will be missed.
