Betty Irene Wright

Betty Irene Wright, 73, of Ripley, WV, passed away on May 18, 2026. She was born in Roane Co. on January 24, 1953. Her parents are the late Alice Douglas and her stepfather, Rexal Douglas Sr.

She is survived by her son, Charles Jason Wright of Parkersburg; daughter, Christal Wright of Charleston; grandchildren, Summer Wright, Paige Wright, and Darian Wright of Parkersburg; brothers, Kenneth Douglas of Oregon and Brian Douglas of Ravenswood; and sisters, Beverly Lawson of Ripley and Jennifer Bowyer of Kincaid.

Betty was a longtime employee of the Kellwood Company in Spencer, WV and a former assistant manager at Tobacco King in Ripley, WV. She enjoyed shopping, cooking for her family, reading, and watching movies. She will be missed dearly.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wright Jr.; and brothers, Rexal Douglas Jr. and Darris Starcher.

The family would also like to give a special thanks to Ohio Valley Health Care for taking great care of Betty in her time of need.
