William "Bill" M. Westfall, 91, of Ripley passed away suddenly on November 13, 2015 at Charleston Memorial Hospital. He was born May 17, 1924 in Roane County, a son of the late Hurby and Naomie Rhodes Westfall. Bill was a World War II Veteran, who served in the US Navy in the Philippines. He worked as a School Bus Driver and retired from State Construction. He was a very accomplished musician, loved to play music and could play almost any instrument. He along with his late wife Hazel were members of the American Fiddlers Association. Bill could do almost anything from building homes to flying Airplanes. He was a licensed Private Pilot and built his own airplane in the 1960's. He was a member of the VFW Post 5501 in Ripley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Westfall; sister Beverly Chambers and step-sons William and Eric Casto. He is survived by his son, John William Westfall of Cullman, AL; step- children Gary (Janet) Casto of Statts Mill, Terry Casto of Liverpool, Sharon (Mel) Weaver of Millwood and Avis Turner of Ravenswood; Niece Lea Ann (Ric) Irvin of Ripley and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial with Military Rites by The Jackson County Honor Guard will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
