Bobby Junior Adkins

Bobby Junior Adkins, 84, formerly of Ripley passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at home surrounded by family.

He was born August 12, 1938 in Spurlockville, WV, a son of the late Allie and Roy Adkins. He was raised in Boone County and spent his adult life in Jackson County, with his late wife Shirley Ann Adkins.

Bobby retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood. He was a craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and making hunting knives. Bobby was able to repair nearly everything and affectionately called Papa MacGuiver by his girls. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially shooting the breeze with his brothers.

Bobby is survived by his brothers, Rick and Terry Adkins, sisters Helen Wheeler and Donna Adkins, his son, Keith Adkins, daughters, Debbie Woodall, Denise Stewart, Gina Martin (Paul) and Sandy Adkins (Bobby Wetzel), grandchildren Cliff Morgan (Marsha), Adam Morgan, Jennifer Redman, Shane Runion (Jessie), Jacob Adkins, Brooke McVey (Sean), Garrett Wetzel, Eli Wetzel and many great grandchildren; step-children William Mowery and Julie Griffith, and step-grandchild Amanda Mowery.

In addition to his parents Bobby was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of their children, Shirley Ann Adkins, twin sons and one daughter; second wife Donna Adkins; brothers Homer, Jimmy, Jackie and Emory Adkins and a sister, Sue Woodrum; step-children Tonda Cunningham and Cindy Mowery.
