Boyd Baisden Jr., 91 of Sandyville, WV, passed away November 23, 2025, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg.
He was born on February 15, 1934, in Dingess, WV, son of the late Boyd and Ethel Grubb Baisden. Boyd was one of 16 children in his family, and they were all very close and helped each other. He was a graduate of Burch High School and served his country in the US Army. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum and attended Sandyville United Methodist Church. Boyd had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren, and as many in the community would say, any child. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alfreda Wright Baisden; son Tim (Vickie) Baisden; daughter Rhonda Baisden; his only surviving sibling, sister Betty Varney; grandchildren; Rocky (Emily) Baisden and Jon Baisden; great grandchildren, Alex Baisden, Isabella Baisden, Hunter Baisden and Luke Baisden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 14 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 28, 2025 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Eddie Layne officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, with Military honors provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard. A time of visitation with the family will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the Camden Clark doctors, ICU Nurses and staff for the special love and care given to Boyd during his time in the hospital.
