Brenda Kay Cottrell

Brenda Kay Cottrell, 66, of Spencer passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at her home.

Brenda was born February 18, 1958 at Charleston, WV a daughter of the late John Sr. and Roxie Mae (Stricklen) Tawney. Brenda will be remembered for her hippie soul and love of Christmas time as well as her always growing collection of snowmen and the Grinch.

Brenda is survived by her children Ericka Hart and Eddie Tawney; sisters Judy Skidmore and Sue Powell; grandchildren Gregory, Aubree, Sophia, Trinity and Isabella. She is also survived by bonus grandchildren Evan, Becca, Dylan, Frankie, Aven and Nick as well as many others.

In addition to her parents Brenda was preceded in death by a brother John Tawney Jr. and sisters Glenda Tawney and Diana Sanders.
