Brenda Monk

Brenda Renee Monk, 54, of Sissonville gained her heavenly home while holding onto her daughters hands on the evening of January 24, 2016 at CAMC Memorial Hospital from a short illness. She was born on November 5, 1961 in Oakland, California. She is the daughter of Judy Baldwin Monk and the late Donald Monk. She graduated from Sissonville High School in 1980; her nickname was "Monkey". She received Jesus in her heart on January 18, 2016. Brenda loved the outdoors, camping, 4-wheeler riding, crafts, and most of all spending time with her family. She was known for her crazy personality and goofiness; she was a loving Mom to her 2 daughters and 4 grandkids that she called her "Chargez" and had a nickname for them all. She is survived by her daughters Tiffany (Cayla) Boggess of Sissonville and Crystal (James) Kiser of Ripley; 4 grandchildren, Destiny "Rae Rae" White, Breanna "Breezy" Kiser, Draven "Dr. Dre" Kiser, and Layla "Lay Lay" Boggess: Ex-husband Emory Boggess; Mother Judy Monk; brother Jimbo (Cindy) Monk; nephews Eric and Logan Monk; niece Anna Carpenter; her fur baby "Rocket" and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her Daddy who she has missed so much, Donald Monk, Her sister, Donna Carpenter and nephew Thomas "Tommy" Ray Carpenter. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with James Kiser officiating. Friends may call on the family from 6-9 p.m. Friday.
