Brett E. Smith

Brett E. Smith, 67 of Kenna, passed away suddenly on January 22, 2023.

He was born August 21, 1955 in Charleston, son of the late Hal and Mary Shaffer Smith. He was a Leadman for Columbia Gas Pipeline Division with 35 years of service. Brett was a Christian and attended Victory Church in Fairplain. He was very talented with his hands and enjoyed woodworking, building furniture and working on cars.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathy Fisher Smith; children Travis (Jerrika) Franklin of Kenna, Stephanie (Brad) Fair of Saltillo, MS and Erica (Gale) Sayre of Evans; brother Craig Smith of Virginia and sister Sharon Kelley of Charleston. He is also survived by his grandchildren who affectionally called him PaPa Brett, Alley Franklin (Justin) Rollins, T.J. Franklin, Presley Franklin, Eli Franklin, Leia Franklin, Lara Grace Fair, Riley Kate Fair, Daniel Fair, Dakota (Cole Boatright) Parsons, Gavin Belisle, Jackson Cook, Caden Sayre, Khaleesi Sayre, Mahalia Sayre and Kali Sayre and great grandchildren Leo Wilson, Hannah Wilson, Bexley Boatright, Silas Boatright, and Kalieah Boatright.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Hal Smith Jr.

In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated and no public service will be held.
