Carl "Doug" Compston

Carl Douglas “Doug” Compston, 72 of Sandyville, passed away July 14, 2023 in Ravenswood Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.

He was born August 16, 1950 in Parkersburg, son of the late Carl and Ella Laughlin Compston. He was a 1968 graduate of Ravenswood High School where he played football and track. He worked for many years at Kardex in Marietta. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and participating in Archery Tournaments. He also served as a Boy Scout Leader.

He is survived by his son, Rex (Brandy) Compston; grandson Theodore Compston.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen June Compston.

A time of visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Funeral service will start at 1:00 pm at the funeral home followed by the committal service at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.
