Carl "Steve" Corns Carl Stephen "Steve" Corns, 57, of Cody, WY, died suddenly on July 27, 2012. He was born November 24, 1954 at Sandyville, WV, the son of Carl and Rae Corns of Sandyville. Surviving: Mother, Rae Corns; Sister, Mary (EJ) Ulland of Ripley; Brother, Ronald (Darla) Corns of Billings, MT; Son, Randal Corns of Cody, WY; Daughter, April (Ken) Walker of Joplin, MO; Several nieces and nephews and other special family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Corns and a sister, Judy Corns. Carl was a graduate of Ravenswood High School and Northwest College with an associates degree in nursing. Due to health problems he was not able to pursue a nursing career, so he continued his work at the Mooncrest Ranch near Cody. He lived the life of a cowboy in the summer months and in the winter months he practiced and perfected his leather craft. He made many saddles and other essential gear for his fellow cowboys and his employer. His signature saddles are now throughout the west and many countries. At the time of his death he worked and resided at the Mooncrest Ranch, which he loved. The wide open spaces, fellow cowboys, horses and c attle and leatherwork were his life along with a very special friend and companion, Gayle Jarvis. Following a memorial service on August 11, 2012, his ashes were scattered in the meadow at Mooncrest Ranch. Information provided by Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.
