Carol Sue Moore

Carol Sue (Canterbury) Moore, 85, of Ripley passed away Monday, October 7, 2024 at Wyngate Senior Living Community in Weirton, WV following an extended illness.

Sue was born April 17, 1939 in Charleston, WV a daughter of the late Clyde and Geneva (Mick) Canterbury. She was employed by United Bank for 30 plus years. Sue’s family was everything to her and she loved all the time she got to spend with them. From camping trips, shopping, WVU games and all the gatherings at her home, she loved being with her family. More recently she enjoyed nothing more than visits from her great-grandchildren who affectionately called her Grandma Sue. She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.

Sue is survived by her daughters Pam Moore (Steve) and Missy DeFede (Brian); sisters Judy Beha and Pat Milam; brother-in-law Terry Benson; sister-in-law Pauline Gorrell; grandchildren Amy Moore, Kyle Moore (Jessilyn), Michael Moore (Kelsey), Michele Parsons (Jacob), Gwyn DeFede and Jocelyn DeFede; great-grandchildren Bentley, Cora Moore Easton Parsons, Beckett Moore and Emma Parsons. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, David Phillip Moore; son David Keith Moore and sister, Peggy Benson.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Tim Parsons officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
