Carroll Eugene Rhodes

Carroll Eugene Rhodes, 81, of Washington, WV passed away May 30, 2016 at Eldercare Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. He was born June 2, 1934 at Gay, Jackson Co., WV a son of the late Oshel Fredrick and Eunice (Kelly) Rhodes. He was married on February 14, 1956 to Frances Lucille Milhoan at Sandyville, WV. Carroll was a mechanic by trade and worked for many companies throughout his career including Villers and Mullens Motors in Parkersburg. He loved to ride motorcycles, and was a member of the West Ripley Church of Christ. Survivors include his children Carolyn L. (C. Edward) Flinn of Belleville, WV, Dalllas E. Rhodes of Lubeck, WV, and Charlotte A. Binder of Huntersville, NC; Grandchildren Michelle R. (Lance) Tennant of Washington, WV, Brent E. (Stephanie) Flinn of Belleville, WV, Alisha N. (John) Hayes of Belleville, WV and Kiersten Binder of Huntersville, WV; 6 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren Aurora, Victoria and Nathaniel Tennant, Braeden and Lillie Hamilton, and Alivia Hayes: Sisters Barbara Joan (David) Halbert of Parkersburg, WV, Janet Lea (Robert) King of Ocala, FL, and Sandra Sue (Michael) Lawrentz of Ripley. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Jaerl Ree Rhodes, infant twin sisters Norma and Nola, and a nephew James Basil Lawrentz. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Doug Petty officiating. Friends may call on the family on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Baptist Grove Cemetery, Frozen Camp. In lieu of flowers the family as that you "Save a Kitty" or donate to your local animal shelter.
