Carroll E. Patterson

Carroll E. Patterson, 80, of Cottageville, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord November 14, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born in Ripley, WV on October 27, 1941 to the late Otho “Bump” and Elsie (White) Patterson. Carroll graduated from Ripley High School, Class of 1959, where he was a star basketball player. He retired from the Department of Highways after 40 years. Carroll enjoyed cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers, camping, and working on his farm. He attended Evergreen Hills Freewill Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth E. Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Janet (Alderman) Patterson of Cottageville, sister Dottie (Carl) Adams of Ripley, daughter Annette (Jerry) Fulk of Cottageville, daughter-in-law Laura (Shamblin) Patterson of Ripley, granddaughters Emily (Justin) Crum of Cottageville and Bethany (Wes) Hendrix of Virginia Beach, and great-granddaughter Aubrey Crum of Cottageville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
