Cathy Scott

Cathy G. Cobb Scott, 68 of Millwood, passed away June 10, 2026, at CAMC (Charleston Memorial Hospital) following a sudden illness.

She was born May 11, 1958, in Charleston, daughter of Ray Williams and the late Dorothy Backus Williams. Cathy was a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School and retired from the Jackson County Commission on Aging. She was a faithful member of the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School Class. She never met a stranger and loved to help anyone in need. She enjoyed camping and loved spending time with family most of all with her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart.

Cathy is survived by her son, Robert; Father, Ray Williams; siblings, Pamela (Harold) Miller, Donny (Traci) Williams and Susan Williams; grandchildren, Liliana Grace and Jacob Dylan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Williams.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Jeff Keffer officiating. Friends may call on the family from 1:30 pm until the time of service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
