Charles R. Newman

Charles Richard Newman, 61 of Sissonville, formerly of Malden, WV passed away April 13, 2023 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston following an extended illness.

He was born January 18, 1962 in Charleston, son of the late Oliver S. Newman and Margaret Roberts Newman. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Butrick. He was a 1981 graduate of DuPont High School.

He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Alicia Berry Newman; mother-in-law Betty Flowers of Sissonville; sister-in-law Regina Rusnak of South Charleston; nieces Ashley and Destiny Rusnak of South Charleston; sisters Katrina (Stoney) Dotson of Campbells Creek and Eva Gibson of Boone County; brother Oliver Newman (Jake) of Rand and many nieces and nephews and friends. He is also survived by special friends Ronald and Patty Bowling.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Sissonville Community Church, 1110 Wolf Pen Dr, Charleston, WV with Pastor Dale Jarrell and Ronald Shamblin Sr. officiating. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 am until the time of service on Thursday at the Church. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley is serving the family.
