Charles Everett Nuckles, 91 of Ripley passed away on January 9, 2024 at home from natural causes.
Charles was born, September 19, 1932 to Virgil and Acel Nuckles in rural Jackson County.
He attended Ripley schools and worked evenings and weekends at Cedar lakes Greenhouse. Charles proudly served his country in the Korean War and returned home to find employment at Kaiser Aluminum where he worked for 37 years and would retire in 1995.
He was a faithful attendee of Ripley Baptist Temple for many years. He enjoyed gardening, summer trips to Myrtle Beach and quiet time reading his bible. He was very active with his granddaughter and great grandson.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph and Troy Nuckles and granddaughter, Jena Lanava.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 1/2 years, Janet Skeens Nuckles. Daughter, Brenda Stone, son Charles Everett Nuckles, Jr. "Chuck" and great grandson Wesley Lanava. He also leaves loved nieces, nephews and several close friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 13th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
