Charles Houston Shultz

Charles Shultz Charles Houston Shultz, 76, of Ripley, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2012 at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness. He was born May 4, 1936 in Chesapeake, WV, son of the late Virginia Mae Shultz. He was a graduate of Dupont High School and retired as a salesman from the food service industry. He was a Baptist by faith and regularly attended services at Eldercare of Ripley, where he had elected to make his home in recent years. In addition to his mother, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Rushie Mae Jeffrey Shultz and a son, James Lee Shultz. Surviving: Son, Charles M. "Chuck" Shultz of Madison (Crystal Tucker); Daughter, Kathy Ann Ratliff (Randy) of Kenna; Grandchildren, Cody Ratliff (Brittany), Levi Ratliff, Katie Ratliff and Mickey Ratliff, all of Kenna, and Alyssa Shultz of Madison and Dylan Shultz of East Bank. Funeral services are set for Monday, August 27 at 1 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Darrell Tackett officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Simmons Creek Cemetery near Belle, Kanawha County. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations in Charles name be made at the funeral home to assist in his final expenses.
