Charles S. Stover, 69 of Cross Lanes passed away July 6, 2015 at Charleston Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Charlie was born March 20, 1946 at Kenna a son of the late Wallace and Lorene Barnette Stover. He was a 1964 graduate of Ripley High School and retired from Columbia Gas with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Cross Lanes United Methodist Church and a former member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Ripley. Charlie was very active in his community and belonged to the former Ripley Jaycee's. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen Rowley Stover; daughter Jennifer Stover of Cross Lanes; granddaughter Sidney Stover of Cross Lanes : brothers Robert (Joyce) Stover, Stephen (Linda) Stover and James (Sharon) Stover all of Kenna; sisters Patty (Gareth) Smith of Statts Mill, Sandra (Bernard) Bailey of Kenna, Darlena "Dottie" Landis of Kenna and Cathy (Mike) Rodes of Winchester, KY; also survived by 10 nieces and four nephews. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Gary Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery near Ripley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, and 11:00 am until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
