Charles W. Taylor. 84 of Ripley passed away September 18, 2014 at Hubbard House Hospice West following a long illness. He was born August 31, 1930 in West Virginia a son of the late Thomas and Myrtle Good Taylor. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Korea from 1953 through 1955. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways with over 19 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Lenore Asbury Taylor and a son Donald Dwight Taylor. He is survived by son Timmy Taylor of Ripley and Johnny (Ann) Taylor of Charleston; daughter Patty (David) Casto of Fairplain and grandchildren Kristen, Andy, Hannah and Kaitlyn. Funeral Service will be Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Al Mendez officiating. Burial with military rites provided by American Legion Post 107 of Ripley will be in the Harrison Cemetery, Goldtown. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
