Chester M. Pursley, 79 of Sandyville passed away September 13, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center following a long illness. He was born December 6, 1936 at Leroy, Roane County, a son of the late Elmer and Grace Wilkinson Pursley. He was an equipment operator and worked in the Oil and Gas Industry. He enjoyed Hunting and Fishing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ida Belle Bosworth Pursley, a son, Andy Pursley and three brothers and one sister. He is survived his sons Bill (Jeanette) Pursley of Elizabeth, Steve (Sandra) Pursley of Ripley and Rick (Tammy) Pursley of Clendenin; grandchildren Andrew Pursley, Jessica Sartin, Steve Pursley, Bryan Pursley, Nick Pursley, Michael Pursley, Sam Pursley, Jonathan and Joshua Haynes; great grandchildren Hunter, Lucas, Drew, Raven and Wyatt: sisters Loretta Staats and Faye McVey both of Sandyville; brothers Clair Pursley of Leroy, Enoch Pursley of Medina and Lee Pursley of Leroy. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Leroy. Friends may call two hours (11 am to 1 pm) Saturday at the funeral home.
