Clair David Fields

Clair David Fields, 69 of Gay, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born September 28, 1953 in Gay, son of the late Homer and Nellie Price Fields. He worked in construction most of his life and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Christian and a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Watkins Fields; sons David (Kristie) Fields, Scotty (Monica) Fields and Jamie (Sara) Fields; daughter Ashley (Matt) Arbogast; brother Ralph Fields; sisters Gertha Casto, Mazil Casto, Wanda Jones, and Ozella Critchfield; grandchildren, Jacob Fields, Sean Fields, Justin Fields, Hunter Fields, Kelsey Brown, William Shamblin Fields, Barbara Shamblin Fields, Josiah Park, Samantha Bonham and Brandon Fields. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Delbert Fields, Reva Shamblin, Avriel Fields and Delphia Critchfield.

Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (Rocky Knob), Aplin Ridge. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in the Tolley Cemetery, Aplin Ridge.
