Clifton G. Hitt

Clifton G. Hitt, 83, of Ripley passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg.

Cliff was born May 14, 1940 at Morgantown the only child of the late Les and Edith (Malone) Hitt. Cliff proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years where he would retire as a Tech Sargent. He would later go on to retire as a Millwright from Pecheny Rolled Products with 36 years of service. Cliff was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Club where he and his wife would log over 250,000 miles and road all over the U.S. as well as in Canada. He also enjoyed camping where he could often be found riding around in his patriotic red, white and blue golf cart. He also loved to spend time with his family and was very proud of them and all of their accomplishments.

Cliff is survived by his wife of 28 years Carolyn (Reed) Hitt; son Chuck Hitt (Pamela); daughter Stephanie Surbaugh (Dan); stepchildren Johnette Shultz (Steve) and Bill Miller and adopted daughter Olivia Dewees; grandchildren Andrew Hitt, Bailey Surbaugh (Daniel), Logan Surbaugh (Katie), Ryan Hitt (Nicole), Jordan Beckner (Robert) John Deweese, Lilly Doerfer (Phoenix), Rosie Deweese, Tristan Deweese, Samantha Shultz and Eric Shultz; great-grandchildren Nolan Hitt, Conor Hitt, Ava Hitt, Avery Hitt, Liam Patton, Layne Hitt and Delilah Beckner,

In addition to his parents Cliff was preceded in death by an adopted son, Roger Deweese.
