Clyde O. Barnette 87 of Rockcastle went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Clyde was born August 20, 1926 at Rockcastle a son of the late Okey and Julia Eliza Slade Barnette. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and attended Moss Chapel Church. He was a retired School Bus Driver with the Jackson County Board of Education and had 37 years of service. Clyde was a member of the Jackson County Republican Executive Committee, former member of the Jackson County Junior Fair Board, member of the Kenna Grange and was a farmer. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Cintilla Carney Barnette; daughters Linda Quillen and Nancy Darlene (Gary) Elkins; sons Daniel C. (Sandra) Barnette and Jearl D. (Sharon) Barnette; sisters Shirley (Arnold) Bailey and Hilda; brother Edward Barnette; grandchildren Kimberly Quillen, Cindy Quillen, Adena Barnette, Ashley (Justin) Heindl, Landon (Ashley) Barnette, Christopher Matthew (Amanda) Elkins, Andrea (Chris) Reneau and Drew Barnette and step granddaughter Kasondra (Kraig) Margroff; great grandchildren Morgan E. Quillen, Joah Heindl, Huck and Harlow Reneau, Jase Heindl, Ryan Elkins and Carson Barnette. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step mother Maybelle McCollum Barnette, sister Opal Hunter; brothers Franklin Barnette and Clarence Barnette. Funeral Service will be 2 pm Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Moss Chapel Cemetery, Given.
