Connie L. Swindler

Connie Lou Swindler, age 65, of Kenna WV, passed away Tuesday March 8, 2022. She was born August 2, 1956 in Charleston, WV. Connie’s greatest joy was being a Mamaw and GG to her 5 grandchildren and great-grandson. She often shared her love of music and art with them as well as her unique imagination and ability to create with a quick, “I can make that!” Painting and crafting brought her great peace and joy. Connie loved camping trips to Williams River, visiting the hatchery, and walking trails with Dean. Her enjoyment of sitting around the fire, drinking coffee, eating a good meal, and chatting with friends and family was evidenced through her smile. She loved growing and receiving bouquets of flowers; especially roses. Connie delighted in spending time with her family. Lunches with her sisters and the holidays gave her the perfect opportunity to do so. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she enjoyed decorating the house inside and out as it required bossing Dean around (another of her favorite things). Although she hated cooking, it was her profession for most of her life, she made the juiciest turkey, moistest chocolate cake, and best zucchini bread around. She never met a stranger and anyone that truly knew her, knew she had a big heart. Connie is survived by her love of 49 years Dean Swindler; children Sunny (Oliver) Enoch, Jason Swindler, and Amber Swindler all of Kenna; grandchildren Brooklyn Swindler, Lakyn Swindler, Hayden Bailey and Ethan Swindler; great-grandson Asher Smith; siblings Leon (Willeta) Evans of Charleston, Eddie (Ruth) Evans of Ripley, Joyce Corrick of Kenna, Gwen Fields of Sissonville, Earl Evans of Ripley, and Carolyn (John) Boyd of Ravenswood. Preceding her in death was her mother Maxine Jarvis Evans; her father Robert A. Evans; her brother David C. Evans; and grandson Evan F. Swindler. In honoring her wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
