Connie Sue Wells, 67, of Sandyville peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2016. She was born June, 19, 1948 in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Leon and Irene Fisher Wells. She graduated from Marshall University with a degree in education and began teaching history at Ravenswood High School in 1972 and would later retire from there after many years of service. She was the owner of Wells Cards and Gifts in Ripley. She also attended the Milhoan Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving cat, Nick; brother Joe Wells of Sandyville; Nephew Eric Wells of Sandyville; cousins Kimberly Hoskinson of St. Albans, Sharon Wigal(Bill) of Elizabeth, and Doyle Morrison(Kim) of Medina; Aunt Ruth Johnson of St. Albans; special friends Lois and Dee Rhodes of Ripley and Sharon and Tom Brown of Mineral Wells. She is also survived by numerous members of the Wells family. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Dee Rhodes officiating. Friends may call on the family from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. The family would like to thank Dr. McDaniel, Dr. Lavender, a special nurse, Rachel, and the whole staff at CAMC Memorial Hospital for their care during Connie's stay.
