Cora Kathleen Coon

Cora Kathleen Coon, 88 of Ripley passed away December 15, 2014 at Eldercare of Ripley following a long illness. She was born April 26, 1926 in Jackson County, a daughter of the late M.R. and Corda Rhodes Coon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers Darrell and Joe Coon; sisters Irene Coon Cobb and Olive Marie Coon. She is survived by brothers Charles H. Coon of Raleigh, NC and Carroll (Goldie) Coon of Fairplain; sisters Mary (Fred) Nutter of Evans, Maxine Braley of Dunbar and Betty (Terry) Elkins of Evans; sister-in-law Geneva Coon of Massillon, OH; special nephew Kenny Nutter of Durham, NC. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Jeff Keffer officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery near Ripley. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
