Dallas Ray Simons, 80, of Leroy passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg. Ray was born September 7, 1940 at Sandyville, WV a son of the late Daniel and Belva Richards Simons. Ray retired from the West Virginia State Road after many years of service. He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends, coon hunting, and bluegrass music. He is survived by daughter Belinda Rae Simons Anderson (James) of Leroy; stepdaughter Karen Kennerly of Ripley; stepsons Allen Null (Barbie) of Aplin Ridge and David Evans (Ronette) of Ripley; grandchildren Kayla Keaten (Ryan) of Leroy, Jessica Talbert (Allen) of Leroy, Chad Anderson (Emma) of Leroy, Cathy Lawrence (Mike) of Given, JD Simmons of Ohio and Logan, Hunter, Canyon Saylor Evans of Ripley, Samuel Null, Phillip Null, Stephen Null (Alysca), Bethany Null and Johnathon Null; Sisters Dorris Blankenship (Donnie) of Leroy and Carolyn Stiwald (Kurt) of Ohio; brothers Charles Simons (Debbie) of Virginia, Darrell Simons (Dianne) of Ohio and Dave Simons of Sandyville. Ray is also survived by many great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Carol and Don Simons, sister, Alice Casto and stepson Kevin Null. A funeral service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 18th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor David Hinzman officiating. Visistation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sandyville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses. Following the burial the family asks you to join them at the Joe’s Run Community Building for a time of food and fellowship.
