Dan Casto

Daniel D. "Dan" Casto, 78 of Homestead, FL, formerly of Ripley passed away, September 29, 2015 at home following a long illness. Dan was born November 17, 1936 at Given, WV, a son of the late Dolan and Hazel Harpold Casto. He served his country in the United States Army and retired from United Bank, formerly The First National Bank of Ripley. In his earlier years worked at DuPont in Parkersburg. Dan was a former member of Greenhills Country Club and won the Club Championship many times. He is survived by his wife Jean A. Casto of Homestead, FL; daughters Melanie Chirgwin of Orlando, FL and Dr. Meegan Hunt and her husband Steve of Ripley; step son Richard C. Polachek II and his wife Katie of Homestead, FL; step daughter Natalie Glass of Homestead, FL: his sister Dolores Chancey of Ripley; grandchildren Jamison and Jaelyn Hunt and Haley and Grant Chirgwin; step grandchildren Jeanne, Casey and Britney Glass and Jarvis Griffin; step great grandson Jarvis Griffin Jr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Gene Casto. The family will be receiving friends for a time of visitation from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.
