Daniel Glen Casto

August 15, 1938 — December 9, 2016

Daniel Glen Casto, 78 of Ripley, passed away December 9, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born August 15, 1938 in Ripley, a son of the late William and Inez Robey Casto. He was an Army Veteran and served in Germany during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked as a Stretcher Operator at Ravenswood Aluminum the former Kaiser Aluminum. Dan liked to work on computers, several that he purchased while attending State Surplus Auctions with his brother, William. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty McCarty Casto; his son and daughter-n-law Kevin and Stephanie Casto of Fairplain; brothers William (Charlotte) Casto of Belleville and David (Joyce) Casto of Evans; sisters Wilma (Bill) Triplett of Silverton and Sue (Jimmy) Durst of Mt. Alto. A celebration of Dan’s Life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Charles Hicks officiating. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 am until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan’s memory are suggested to the Calvary United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 205 Court St, Ripley, WV 25271.
