Daniel Cunningham

Daniel Okey Cunningham, 73, of Ripley passed away August 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 29, 1941 in Ripley, a son of the late Okey and Mildred Kay Cunningham. Daniel retired from Kaiser Aluminum where he was a steelworker. He also served in the Army where he reached the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (W3). He was a member of the Ripley Masonic Lodge #16 AF & AM, American Legion Post 107, Life Member of the Sandyville VFW Post 3488, Jackson County Beekeepers Association, and the Military Officers Association of America. He was also a talented woodworker. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Easter Cunningham; sons Donald Cunningham (Shari) of Ravenswood and Dale Cunningham of Ripley; daughters Denise Fields (Robert) of Ripley and Diana Casto (Dana) of Ripley; brothers David Cunningham(Linda) of Ravenswood, Jerry Cunningham (Belinda) of Florida, Joe Cunningham (Eileen) of Ripley, Terry Cunningham of Ripley, and Tim Cunningham (Crystal) of Ripley; sisters Betty Parsons (Rossie) of Ripley, Sue Fields (Filbert) of Staats Mill, and Kay Greathouse(Kelvin) of Ripley; mother-in-law Justine Easter. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Shannon and John Henry, and one sister, Mary Keefer. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Arnold Conant officiating. Burial with Military Rites by American Legion Post 107, Ripley will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 25 at the funeral home.
