Daniel Lee Winter

Daniel Lee Winter, 55, of Talbott, TN, formerly of Ripley, WV passed away October 10, 2022, while on a scuba diving excursion with friends of the Smokey Mountain Divers in Roatan, Honduras located in Central America.

Daniel’s soul was continuously searching for the thrill of adventure. His passions included scuba diving in exotic locations to skiing some of the best slopes that the U.S. had to offer. He enjoyed golfing and racing motorcycles in his younger years. Daniel was a standout football player in high school, playing in the North/South Football Classic for Ripley High his senior year of 1985. He lived and loved life to the fullest with an optimist attitude.

Daniel was a loving father that absolutely adored his two children Harley and Peyton, who meant the world to him. He was always proud of his children, and they were his number 1 priority.

Daniel was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Ward and Justine Winter, step-grandmother Janet Winter; Maternal grandparents Darrel and Anita Cawthon, as well as his father, Henry Winter.

Daniel is survived by his children Harley and Peyton; mother Linda Winter of Given; sister Misty Adcock (Sean) of Given; nephew Cole Adcock of Charleston; Caisie Adcock of Durham, NC as well as many cousins in both WV and TN and good friends, Joe Downs and Charlie and Peggy Johnson of Talbott, TN.

Daniels contagious smile and smirk will be greatly missed by everyone who know and loved him. Everyone has a story to share about Daniel. His happy memory will always live in us.

A memorial service to celebrate Daniel’s life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, November 5th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Jimmy Compton officiating.
