Darrell David Patterson

Darrell David Patterson, 62 of Sandyville, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2017 at his home following a sudden illness. He was born March 4, 1955 at Ravenswood, a son of the late Warren and Ona Flinn Patterson. He was a 1973 Graduate of Ravenswood High School. Darrell was a Soul Winner and a child of God that loved his church, Grace Gospel Baptist Church, where he served as a Greeter. He loved his grandchildren and they considered him the Greatest Papaw Ever! He was an avid West Virginia University Fan and enjoyed supporting the Mountaineers. He coached Midget League Football and Little League Baseball and was very Patriotic in his support for the Military. He was a devoted fan of Ravenswood Football and supported Ripley sports where his grandchildren played. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gloria Garrett Patterson; his sons, David (Crystal) Patterson of Jacksonville, NC, Nathan (Bridget) Patterson of Gay, Chris (Renee) Patterson of Ripley and Randy (Brittany) Patterson of Gay; his grandchildren David Patterson, Shayla Patterson, Ethan Patterson, Cameron Reese Patterson, Ava Patterson, Stella Patterson, Taylor Patterson, Jacob Fouty, Christopher Allen Patterson II, Norah and Oliver Patterson; brothers Larry (Cathy) Patterson of Ripley and Arnold Patterson of Ravenswood; sister Judy (Jim) Crow of Ravenswood. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Monday, June 19, 2017 at the Grace Gospel Baptist Church, Ripley with Pastor Jason Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 am until the time of service on Monday at the Church. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley is serving the family.
