David "Wayne" Crawford

Wayne David Crawford, 74, of Given, WV went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2016 at the home of his daughter Renee Polk in Pearl River, LA following a battle with cancer. Wayne was born in Bogalusa, LA to Alvin and Marie Crawford on August 29, 1941. While serving his country in the United States Army, he met his love, Connie C Casto, and they married July 25, 1964. They were married for 36 years and had 4 children. Wayne and Connie started Way-Con Construction in 1988 and served many customers, which they thought of as friends. Wayne took great pride in his work and was well known throughout the community. His favorite past-time was vacationing with his children and grandchildren. Wayne was most happy making his family happy. He is preceded in death by his wife Connie and 4 siblings. Survivors include his sister Ginger Crawford (James) of Pearl River, LA; daughter Renee C Polk (Michael) of Pearl River, LA; daughter Kathy J Johnson (Eric) of Given, WV; daughter Cheryl L Crawford of Charleston, SC; son David W Crawford (Adrianne) of Ripley, WV; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be at noon on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Given, WV. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm Tuesday, January 26, 2016 and on Wednesday, January 27 from 9 to time of service at the funeral home.
