David "Tiny" Cummings

David L. “Tiny” Cummings, 83, of Parkersburg passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House following an extended illness. He was born Octboer 6, 1935 at Higby, WV a son of the late Romie Washington and Hazel Irene Jones Cummings. Dave was a 1954 graduate of Ripley High School and would go on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. Following his military service he worked at the Harshaw Chemical Company in Elyria, OH, had his own pottery distribution service, and later worked as a heavy equipment operator for IUOE Union Local 132. He loved his music and played several different instruments, but always favored his fiddle. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, watching baseball and football, and hunting and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Audra Jones Cummings; daughter, Pam Cummings of Parkersburg; Sister-in-law Norma Cummings of Elyria, OH; Brother-in-law Lacy (Joanne) of Cincinnati; Nephew Marty Cummings (Judy) of North Canton, OH, and Niece Denise Harrison (Jon) of Elyria, OH. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Romie Arol “Rat” Cummings. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, August 22nd at Waybright Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cummings officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
