David Harold Thomas

David Harold Thomas, 71 of Elkview passed away April 22, 2015 at Charleston Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born October 1, 1943 in Jackson County, a son of the late Walter and Olive Holmes Thomas. He formerly worked for the Charleston Housing Authority. He loved being with his family especially his grandchildren and enjoyed being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margie Diana (Shamblin) Thomas; his children, Gene (Teresa Kay) Thomas of Lancaster, SC, Teresa (Jimmy) Asbury of Kenna and Heather (Brad) Copen of Big Chimney; grandchildren Jessica (Brandon) Hayes, Kaytlyn (Derrick) Adams, Kandace Thomas, Garrett (Dabney) Thomas, Mickenzie Cassell, Mason Holstine and Cadyn Holstine; Great grandchildren Gage Hayes and Zachary Adams; brother Glennis Thomas of Poca; sisters Linda Hackney of Poca and Diane Sue Raines of Kenna; Aunt Jackie Shaffer. Also survived by many cousins and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Allen Thomas. Funeral Service will be 1:30 pm Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor David Spencer officiating. Burial will be in the Sissonville Memorial Cemetery.
