David Lee Wicker

David Lee Wicker, 71, of Ripley, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2025. He was born April 14, 1953 to the late Ted Wicker and Rebecca Moore.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers; John Martin Wicker, Perry Wicker, Danny Wicker and Estill Wicker; and a sister, Anna Belle Wicker Headley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 51 years, Imogene Wicker; daughter Jennifer Butcher (Clifford); son, Scott Wicker (Jami); brothers Charlie Wicker (Helen) and Stanley Wicker; sister Rosa Ellen Wicker; and three grandchildren, Shayla Butcher (Stephen), Levi Butcher, and Morgan Wicker; and David’s best friend Hubert Cecil, whom he worked with and shared many memories together.

David was a hard worker and was a part of the Laborer Union across areas of Charleston, Parkersburg, and Ashland. He will be remembered for his love of construction and woodworking and also enjoyed tending to his garden, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his loved ones.

To honor David’s wishes, there will be a memorial service held at Waybright funeral home on Sunday January 19th at 4p.m., with pastor Danny Cummings officiating and Jennifer Steele singing.
