Deborah Lynn Hurd, 71, of Cottageville passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at her home following an extended illness.
Debbie was born October 15, 1953 at Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Wilburn Harold Lucas Sr. and Verda (Adkins) Lucas. Debbie will be remembered by her family as a prayer warrior who never wavered from her strong Christian faith even from a young age. Her favorite saying whether it be with her faith or life in general was, “Don’t Let Up, Don’t Shut Up and Don’t Give Up. Debbie was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Earl Hurd; son Jeremy Hurd (Melvina); daughter Angel Blocker (Johnie); sister Joyce Adkins; brothers Harold Lucas Jr. (Joanna) and Danny Lucas (Janice); grandchildren Morgan Graves (Kyra), Madison Hurd, Jasmine Hurd, Josiah Hurd and Mateo Hurd and one great-grandson, Cooper Graves.
In addition to her parents Debbie was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Emmitt Adkins.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 23rd at Faith Fellowship Church, 2298 Spencer Rd., Ripley, WV 25271. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
