Deloris Jean Payne

Deloris Jean Payne, 79 of Leon, passed away July 10, 2023 at home following an extended illness.

She was born August 20, 1943 in Kentuck, WV, daughter of the late Warren Hoyt and Liddie Faber Miller. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, gardening, genealogy and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Henry Payne; sons Timothy (Vickie) Payne, Matthew (Shirley) Payne and Mark (Rachel) Payne; daughters Stephanie (Warren) VonDollen and Melissa (Lee) Kimberling; brother Jennings Miller; sisters Sue Payne and Juanita Sheets; grandchildren Travis, Chris, Raeanna and Malachi Payne, Nathan, Brandon and Dillon Moore, Steven and Eli Kimberling and Miranda Reynolds; great grandchildren Haley, Owen, Levi and Addie Payne, Gracelynn, Bentley, Waylon and Brooklyn Kimberling, Avery and Landry Moore.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by grandchildren T.J. Payne and Samantha Jean Payne and brothers Evis, Brooks and Dale Miller.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. A time of visitation will be from 11:30 until the time of service on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Payne Cemetery, White Oak Rd., Roane County.
