Dennis Charles Anderson , 62, of Newark, Delaware, went home to be with the Lord Friday evening, April 25, 2014 following an extended illness. He was born January 30, 1952 in Parkersburg, son of the late Clarence Anderson and Georgia Kerns Burton. A former resident of Ravenswood, he was a veteran of the United States Navy with five years of active duty and retired from Tetra-Tech Environmental with 25 years of service as a senior Environmental Technician. Denny was a devoted son and grandfather and loved spending time with his grandson Seth and special friend Jessica McCann. He loved to cook, enjoyed woodworking and golf and was an avid fantasy reader and Hobbist. He loved his family and especially enjoyed his trips home for family reunions. He was an amazing brother and uncle and a wonderful man who will be missed very much. Surviving: Grandson, Seth Zwinski of Delaware; Step-mother, Violet Anderson of Wilding; Special friend, Jessica McCann of Delaware; Sisters, Shirley Allen of Ripley, Cathy Booher (David) of Ravenswood; Brother, Michael Anderson (Patty) of Virginia; Nieces and nephews, Brian Allen, Cindy and Todd Blackburn and their daughter Emily, John Anderson, Stacy Anderson and her children Ethan and Lexie, Becky and Daniel Anderson and their children Kassidy and Blair, Sheree and Rodney Gandee and their daughters Emilee and Cathy Mae. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins whom he loved very much. In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by nephews Eric Allen and Christopher Anderson. A service celebrating the life of Denny Anderson will be Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Interment of his cremated remains will be at the Mt.
