Dennis L. Boggess

Dennis Lee Boggess, 84, of Kenna passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at Cedar Ridge Center in Sissonville following an extended illness.

Dennis was born September 24, 1940 at Romance, WV a son of the late Laco and Katherine (Bumgardner) Boggess. Dennis was a graduate of Ripley High School and was employed at True Temper as a tool and dye maker. He also raised Christmas Trees for Black Forest Plantation and was a former co-owner of Genteck Repair. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and his many trips to the family camp on the Williams River.

Dennis is survived by his children Edwin Boggess (Shari) and Sheila Mansheim (Tim); brothers Dewey Boggess (Ella), Dolan Boggess (Jean) and Jack Boggess (Donna); sister Jeanette Parsons (Steve); grandchildren Andrew Cunningham (Crystal), Josh Boggess, Jordan Boggess, Kaydee Figueroa (Ricardo) and T.J. Mansheim and great-grandchildren Rylan, Syrus, Sebastian, Liam, Knox, Maverick and Kane.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 26th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Carl Casto officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Bumgardner Cemetery, Romance. Following the burial there will be a reception at the Rippling Waters Dining Hall. Because of Dennis’s love for the outdoors the family request those in attendance to wear camo or fishing attire.
